Black Friday Shopping

BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING

Have you been doing your research for Black Friday Shopping?  Some articles I have been reading give some good advice.

Do your research, make a plan and stick to it.  Don’t make impulse purchases. Go early, get in line and be prepared to shop! Even if you don’t know exactly what you want, have a price range of a gift for that person on your list.

Toys R Us will be opening at 9 p.m. Thanksgiving night for the first time. Macy’s, Kohl’s, Target, Best Buy, Gap and Banana Republic will open at midnight. Eighty percent of Old Navy stores will open at midnight.

If you are a tech-savvy shopper you will have the biggest advantage with coupons and smartphone promotions.

Ebates.com gives online shoppers cash back for making purchases from over 1,500 retail websites.  Shoppers can compare offers and earn a percentage of their purchase in cash reward. On Black Friday and Cyber Monday, J.C. Penney, Nordstrom, Old Navy, Barnes & Noble and 500 more stores will offer double cash-back on Ebates.com.

How do they do this?  The retailer pays Ebates.com a commission and that commission is split with the customer in the form of a mailed check.

Nerdwallet.com has an online tool that allows you to compare the best rewards for online shopping.

If you plan to order online, look around for the site that will give you, not only the best price, but free shipping.

One news piece I was watching online, says BEWARE of putting too much emphasis on your Black Friday shopping.  Even though you can get some great deals on electronics, watch a couple weeks after Thanksgiving and you will be finding those same items at even a better price!
